Our office is family-oriented with an emphasis on making our patients and parents comfortable and involved in their orthodontic treatment. Our friendly and professional staff includes four orthodontic assistants, a lab technician and records technician, a treatment coordinator, a patient care supervisor, patient accounts manager, scheduling secretary, insurance secretary, and communications secretary. Our assistants average over sixteen years of orthodontic experience, while overall the majority of staff has been with Dr. Sutherland for 12 to 25 years.

	Maritza joined our team in 2002 as one of our treatment coordinators. Prior to coming to Dr. Sutherland’s office, she had sixteen years of orthodontic experience as both an orthodontic assistant and a treatment coordinator. Maritza is our team cheerleader; she has lots of encouragement and enthusiasm to share with our staff and patients. She now shares that enthusiasm as our new Scheduling Coordinator.
	Moch is the newest member of our orthodontic team. In July 2008 we welcomed her as our Marketing Specialist. She came to us from PLU with a PR/Marketing degree. Moch wears a few different hats here at Smiles by Sutherland: she works as our patient care supervisor, insurance specialist and marketing specialist. We welcome her and her joyful spirit.
	Alanna joined our team in 1991 and has been very versatile in her roles at our office. Alanna has been our financial manager, a lab assistant, an orthodontic assistant and is currently our Treatment Coordinator. You will always find a smile on her face as she strives to do her best in whatever position she is given.
	Vanessa became a member of our team after having worked in the financial industry for twelve years. She has been our Financial Manager since 2001 and works diligently reviewing and finalizing all insurance and financial information with great detail.
	Julie joined the Sutherland team in 1998 as the receptionist and is currently our Communications Secretary. She is the liaison between Dr. Sutherland and your general dentist, making sure that your dentist receives accurate and up-to-date information as your orthodontic treatment progresses. Julie also shares the responsibility in coordinating various aspects of our local public relations projects.
	Brenda has worked in the orthodontic field since 1984 and has been with Smiles by Sutherland since 1985. Brenda has been our Clinical Supervisor for the last five years. She is very outgoing and welcoming and our patients love her!
	Tami is an Orthodontic Assistant. She has worked in the orthodontic field since 1981 and has been at SBS since 1988. Tami has a sweet caring personality and is devoted to details. She is willing to go above and beyond to get the job done.
	Stacy is an Orthodontic Assistant. She has been in the orthodontic field since 1990 and joined the Sutherland team in 2004. Stacy also has experience in the front office and lab. Stacy, in her soft-spoken manner, is attentive to great detail while working with each of our patients. She strives to ensure that each of her patients has an optimal orthodontic experience.
	Kristi is an Orthodontic Assistant. She has been in the orthodontic/dental field since 1997 and joined our team in 2004. Her favorite thing about working in orthodontics is seeing the confidence build in a patient as their smile improves.
	Maria is our Lab Technician. She has worked in the dental/orthodontic field since 1979 and has been a member of our team since 1996. Maria has worked in the front office as well being an orthodontic assistant, records technician and lab technician. She is dedicated, hard working and loyal. Maria is always willing to go the extra mile to get the job done.
